HAMDEN, CT — Gov. Ned Lamont has ordered all restaurants and bars to close in an effort to help contain the spread of the new coronavirus. Local eateries, however, are allowed to be open for delivery and takeout orders.
In Hamden, most restaurants are offering delivery and takeout options. Some restaurants and eateries are closed.
The Brownstone House Family Restaurant, 2365 Whitney Ave., will be open for pickup and during this difficult time will offer delivery for the first time in 70-plus years. The Brownstone is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 203-281-0446.
Eli's On Whitney said they will be open "for TAKEOUT ONLY until further notice, as per today's mandate from the CT government. Enjoy your favorites via DoorDash, online ordering, & more coming soon! Stay safe & stay healthy."
Mickey's Restaurant announced that they will not be offering takeout after March 17. "See you all soon," they said in a post on Facebook.
Hamden Townhouse Diner said they are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and are offering delivery and pickup orders.
Mikro Depot will be taking to-go orders from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (seven days a week). Call the restaurant at 203-553-7676. "We are in the process of working on a delivery system but for now we are doing pick up only," they wrote in a post on Facebook. "Also we will be selling gift cards at the store or over the phone and mailing them out to you. Just let us know! We also will be selling growlers as well!"
Freskos, 2323 Whitney Ave., is offering take-out and delivery.
Acropolis Diner, 1864 Dixwell Ave., will be open 24 hours for takeout until further notice. Call 203-288-0400.
Alltown Fresh is offering order ahead and curbside pickup.
Whitney Donut and Sandwich Shop is open for take-out only. "You can use our drive thru or walk in and quickly grab your order!" they said on Facebook.
Wood-n-Tap, 2100 Dixwell Ave., is open for take-out, delivery and curbside service.
The Soup Girl, 1242 Whitney Ave., is open for take-out and delivery.
Subway at 2100 Dixwell Ave. is open for business.

Wentworth's is open: "Wentworth's is open for business! Per order of the Governor no indoor seating is available, but we're here for your ice cream fix," they wrote on Facebook.
Ashley's Ice Cream is closed. "We will remain closed until further notice and will update our social media pages with changes," they wrote on Facebook. "We know this is a difficult time for all but we will get through this together. Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon!"
