Sidney Trower
1915 - 2011
It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of retired Hamden firefighter Sidney Trower on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, four days after his 96th birthday.
Sid was appointed to the Hamden Fire Department on May 1, 1947. He retired after 33 years of service on February 24, 1980. He had been a member of the Hamden Fire Retirees Association and was a charter member of the Hamden Professional Firefighters, Local 2687, I.A.F.F.
Sid is survived by his two daughters, Sylvia Bontatibus of Meriden and Barbara Wysopal of North Haven, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Sid was married 63 years to the late Eileen Blanchard Trower.
