After this photo appeared in the New Haven Register, Deputy Chief Walt Macdowall sent the original glossy to then-Firefighter Clark Hurlburt.
Walt added the caption (that was Walt!), courtesy of the department's Kroy machine. About twenty years later, Clark would be one of Walt's successors as Deputy Chief.
