SHOW YOUR SUPPORT TO HAMDEN’S
FIRST RESPONDERS & MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS!
Pick up a THANK YOU Lawn Sign or Have One Delivered While Supplies Last
HAMDEN, Conn - Mayor Curt Balzano Leng encourages residents to show their support by picking up a "Thank You Hamden First Responders" lawn sign from one of our mobile donation or food bank locations. Signs are in limited supply, and will be given on a first-come first-serve basis.
"THANK YOU HAMDEN FIRST RESPONDERS" lawn signs are also available for delivery to residents who may not be able to leave their households. Simply visit www.hamden.com/SeeClickFix and submit a request for delivery under the COVID-19 category, or download the app on the App Store or Google Play Store and select "Hamden". A volunteer will deliver your sign within a few days!
The mobile donation site will be in the Hamden Middle School parking lot (2623 Dixwell Avenue), next to the cafeteria, from 9:00am to 12:00pm on Monday (4/20), Wednesday (4/22), and Friday (4/24). Donations of food & cloth masks for the Keefe Community Center (11 Pine St.) and Miller Senior Center (2901 Dixwell) food pantries should be left on the table next to the truck. Anyone wishing to donate directly to the Food Bank Gift Fund may do so by contacting Community Development Manager, Adam Sendroff, at 203-776-5978 x1123, or Community Services Coordinator Y’Isiah Lopes at 203-562-5129. Pickups and deliveries can be arranged.
Commenting, Mayor Leng said, "Let's show our support as a community and let our first responders and medical professionals know how much they matter. These are beautiful signs designed by Alisha Martindale from the Hamden Arts & Culture Department as part of an effort to build up our Hamden community spirit in these difficult times. I ask you all to donate if you can, and to request a sign even if you can't. I express my sincere thanks to all residents, staff and volunteers doing everything they can to help our family and friends in need."
