Hamden Fire Retirees Association, Inc.

The Hamden Professional Firefighters Association, Local 2687, I.A.F.F. honored Capt. Dennis Baker at their annual Retirement Dinner, held Saturday evening, February 27th, at the Laurel View Country Club.

Local President Gary Merwede introduced Fire Chief David Berardesca, who praised Dennis' nearly 32 years of service before a gathering of active and retired firefighters and their families and friends.  Gary then presented Dennis with a wristwatch from the Local.  Dennis accepted his gift with eloquent and emotional words of praise for his fellow firefighters.

Following a standing ovation, Dennis received the traditional "roast" from Mark Pratt, who chronicled some of Dennis' earliest exploits on the department, ending with a sincere wish from us all for a long, happy and healthy retirement.
